How to Install Umbraco 8 Manually

Hi Guys, This is my first blog, I Have just installed Umbraco 8 onto my local machine and here is the process to help anyone struggling setting up. Here is the process broken down into steps.

Step 1. Navigate to https://our.umbraco.com/download/ And click the download link for "Umbraco 8.6.3"

Step 2. Create a folder on your desktop called "Website"

Step 3. Drag your downloaded Zip File into your newly created website folder and "Extract here"

Step 4. Open Visual Studio (you may have to download this if you don't have it installed already)

Step 5. Once Visual Studio is installed and open click continue with no code

Step 6. Next you want to click file/open and open website, Now open the folder you created from step 2 and 3

Step 7. Once your folder is opened click View then Page Properties. then Click Build in the left side menu,
Make sure your first drop down box selects no build and all check boxes are unchecked

Step 8.  Once your solution is ready click run ISS Express from the top bar of options in Visual Studio choose run without debugging

Step 9. You will be asked to create a username and password fill in the required fields with your information and continue

Step 10. Go into your email inbox you used to create your account and follow the link to verify your account.

Step 11. Now you want to stop running your Visual Studio solution and Run it again this will bring up a local Umbraco demo site. In the URL add "/umbraco" to the end of your (localhost/******) Sign into your account.

Now you are all set and ready to go with Umbraco 8.
